Lessons From Camp In 2020: A Summer To Remember

Understanding the impact that missing summer camp would have on the children in Northeast Detroit's community, SAY Play Center at Lipke Park and Wings For Kids joined forces to keep camp in session in 2020. Looking back, we understand just how valuable this time would be to the students who are still recovering today. See how an incredible team of SAY Play staff made summer camp—and critical social emotional skills—available to kids at a time it was needed most.

We'd like to thank and acknowledge Dana Davidson, the former Co-Executive Director who helped facilitate WINGS training and programming, Malcolm McCants the current Academic Director who empowered SAY Play staff to implement the programming, and a special thank you to Dan Boylan, in partnership with Wings for Kids, who helped develop a curriculum plan and be a leader in SEL for SAY Play Staff.
