Student Volunteer Opportunities

Tutor students one-on-one during Academic Time

Just 50 minutes a week will give our kids the individual attention they need to succeed. Once you sign up, WINGS will contact you to further discuss volunteer opportunities and schedule training.

  • Must be at least a Junior in high school
  • Tutor at Chicora School of Communications (N. Charleston), Memminger Elementary School (Brentwood Campus), Memminger Elementary School (Brentwood Campus), or North Charleston Elementary School
  • Monday – Thursday
  • Once a week for 9 weeks
  • One tutoring session is around 50 minutes
  • Hours are:
    Chicora3:15 – 4:05pm
    James Simons5:10 - 6:00pm on Monday & Wednesday
    4:25 - 5:15pm on Tuesday & Thursday
    Memminger4:20 – 5:20pm
    NCES4:10 - 5:00pm
  • Letter of recommendation / validation of service hours will be provided
